Don't forget Super Saturday Aug. 11!
Super Saturday is coming up quick! A schedule is now available (thanks Cheryl!!) You can still sign up in Relief Society but it would be much easier to sign up on the Super Saturday Blog. Click on this link http://11thwardrssupersaturday.blogspot.com/ to sign up. Click on the comments at the bottom of each craft or class and type in your name. When you sign up it will automatically send me an e-mail stating that you signed up--easy peasey!! It will be up to you now to get your money to the crafter(s). Remember, if you can't pay for the craft you signed up for or want to sign up for please do not stay away! We still want you there! Bishop is willing to help if you need it.
Prayers are needed!!
There are many sisters in our ward right now that are in great need of prayers. Some are in the hospital while others are struggling at home. Please pray for them! Our Father in Heaven knows what is best for these sisters so please pray for comfort for those sisters and their families.
Tuesday RS Activity
For this month's activity we are setting aside the whole day to go to the temple as sisters. Go anytime this day to do baptisms or any other ordinance you feel you would like to participate in.
Happy 4th of July!!
Happy Independence Day everyone!! Don't forget about the scout breakfast at 7 am in Kent's Market parking lot. Cost is $15 per family of 5. $5/person and $2 for children 11 and younger. Think those prices are correct. Anyway, go support our scouts! The parade starts at 9:30 am right along main street.
I would like thank all of the men and women out there who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms!!
I also thought it might be fitting to put a quote from our former Prophet President Ezra Taft Benson who tells of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence.
"We know the signers of the sacred Declaration of Independence and the Founding Fathers, with George Washington at their head, have made appearance in holy places. Apostle Wilford Woodruff was president of the St. George Temple at the time of their appearance and testified that the founders of our republic declared this to him: 'We laid the foundation of the government you now enjoy, and we never apostatized from it, but we remained true to it and were faithful to God.' (Journal of Discourses, 19:229.)
"Later, after he became President of the Church, President Woodruff declared that 'those men who laid the foundation of this American government and signed the Declaration of Independence were the best spirits the God of heaven could find on the face of the earth. They were choice spirits, not wicked men. General Washington and all the men who labored for the purpose were inspired of the Lord.' (Conference Report, April 1898, p. 89.)"
Have a wonderful day!!
