Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you had a wonderful time with your friends and families. I am so grateful for the time to really reflect upon our Savior, Jesus Christ. There is a great clip on LDS.org that really shows what Christmas is about. It is a video clip called The Old Shoemaker. It is a Russian tale of an old shoemaker named Martin who learns the true meaning of Christmas. http://www.lds.org/media-library/video/christmas?lang=eng&id=2012-09-5631-the-old-shoemaker#2012-09-5631-the-old-shoemaker

2012 was a great year and we look forward to 2013. This coming Sunday December 30, 2012 will be our last Sunday with the 11:00 block. Starting in January we will be switching to 1:00. Sacrament meeting begins at 1:00, Sunday school at 2:20 and Relief Society at 3:10.

We hope you have a safe and happy New Year!!

HUGE Thank You

Thanks to everyone who came to our RS dinner & Program last night. I hope you all had an enjoyable evening and felt the Christmas story come to life. Sometimes we think of the Christmas story just as a story but with the help of the spirit and the story told last night I hope you feel a little more connected to the birth of our Savior. There are too many people to thank for helping put that program and dinner together. My committee was wonderful and all of the sisters and brothers in our ward who brought food and decorations. THANK YOU!!

Also, Remember about the Ward Christmas Breakfast this Saturday at 9 am. There will be great food and Santa will be there, too. Hope to see you there!

December is Here!!

I can't believe that it is December already. I think November flew by! That is okay because I love what December brings, Snow, magic, peace and remembrance. Don't forget about the First Presidency Christmas Devotional Dec. 2 @ 6pm. You can watch it online at  http://www.lds.org/broadcasts/watch/christmas-devotional/2012/12?lang=eng at 6 pm

Upcoming Activity

December's Relief Society activity is a Christmas dinner & Program. We encourage you to bring your husband but if that is not possible then PLEASE bring a friend from our ward. We have many sisters who cannot drive or do not go out after dark. Please, do not plan to come alone. You can come alone but it would be more fun to have a friend from the ward with you.For more details, please click on the link at the left under "this month's activity"

Hope to see you there!

As always childcare will be provided.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We hope you have a wonderful week full of Family, Friends and FUN! Remember to be thankful for all that you have. Remember about our Ward Thanksgiving Feast on Saturday @ 4pm. Bring your favorite Thanksgiving food to share. As always there will be great food and fun for everyone.

Another reminder to get your visiting teaching done early so that you can enjoy your holidays. Sister Thomas expressed a great need for our sisters to be visited and we, as a presidency, cannot visit everyone. Please let us know if there are any needs that need to be met. We appreciate all that you do!

Tuesday Night's Activity

Tuesday night's activity was informative, fun, and relaxing! What a great way to spend an hour of our time! We learned some great tips about Family Home Evening in all stages of life from Chloe Mautz and we learned some great relaxation tips from Bro. Phillip Harris. I hope that everyone who came went home relaxed and encouraged. Thanks for coming & supporting the Relief Society. If you didn't come, we hope to see you at next month's activity.

Pray for our Leaders!!

lds leaders with obama
I hope everyone took the opportunity to vote yesterday. We live in such a wonderful country to have the privilege to vote. Now that we know how the election turned out, please continue to pray for our leaders no matter who you voted for. If President Monson can congratulate President Obama for a victory, we can surely do the same. What a great example our Prophet is.

The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued the following statement today:

...We congratulate President Obama on winning a second term as President of the United States.

After a long campaign, this is now a time for Americans to come together. It is a long tradition among Latter-day Saints to pray for our national leaders i

n our personal prayers and in our congregations. We invite Americans everywhere, whatever their political persuasion, to pray for the President, for his administration and the new Congress as they lead us through difficult and turbulent times. May our national leaders reflect the best in wisdom and judgment as they fulfill the great trust afforded to them by the American people.

We also commend Governor Romney for engaging at the highest level of our democratic process which, by its nature, demands so much of those who offer themselves for public service. We wish him and his family every success in their future endeavors.

A time of Gratitude

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! Now on to November! It is time to focus on Gratitude. Take the time to share what you are grateful for so we can all be reminded of the great things our Father in Heaven has given us.
